INGREDIENTS

  • 2 medium slice (yield after cooking) Bacon
  • 8 oz Turkey Sausage
  • 4 ounces Ground Beef (80% Lean / 20% Fat)
  • 2 1/2 servings High Protein TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein)
  • 1/2 cup, chopped Onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped Celery
  • 1/2 cup, chopped Carrots
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth, Bouillon or Consomme
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Dice the bacon and add to a large nonstick skillet.  Cook over medium heat until it begins to brown. Add the sausage and beef to brown, breaking up the meat into small bits with a spatula or spoon (about 7 minutes).
  2. Stir in the TVP and chopped vegetables. Cook 5 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes, skimming off excess fat from the surface of the liquid.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.
